Philip A. Anderson is a director of photography, Steadicam operator, and underwater operator based in Portland and Los Angeles. With more than 20 years of experience across feature films, television, commercials, and branded content, he is known for his ability to collaborate with directors and cinematographers to bring creative visions to the screen through dynamic camera movement and visual storytelling.

A member of IATSE Local 600, Philip is comfortable stepping into a wide range of production environments, from large union crews to smaller documentary teams. His approach combines artistry,  technical precision and practical on-set experience to support both the creative goals of the project and the realities of  the schedule and budget for each project.

Philip holds bachelors degrees in Communications and Psychology along with university certifications in Project Management and Financial Accounting. This education giving him a strong understanding of collaboration, workflow, and production logistics.

 

Philip is a registered member of the Samish Indian Nation and seeks to promote underrepresented stories from indigenous and minority communities. He is available for projects throughout Oregon, the Pacific Northwest, Los Angeles, and worldwide.
